Llamas do not require much special equipment or supplies.
Some items however are necessary and others are a convenience.
A properly fitted, well-constructed halter is very important.
Lead ropes should not be too heavy or bulky, yet strong,
and be 5 to 7 feet long. Many varieties of waterers
and feeders
are available, most work very well. Northern Colorado
Llamas (NCL) use feeders we build ourselves. They last a long
time, keep the feed up off the ground, out of the snow, rain,
and wind, and the Llamas like to use them. The medical supplies
kept on hand will vary greatly with each person. NCL keeps in
stock a good selection of important medical supplies. We will
be happy to show you these items and discuss what might best suit
your needs. We can demonstrate the packing equipment we use and
sell. Here at NCL we manufacture most of our own equipment and
can supply a complete package of packing equipment to meet your
individual needs. Northern Colorado Llamas manufactures quality
packsaddles
and panniers.
The saddles are solid welded aluminum
construction, lightweight, durable, safe and comfortable for the
Llamas, and easy to use. The panniers are strong, durable and can be
customized for individual needs. The
Llama chute
used at NCL was
designed and built right here. All metal construction allows it
to be used or stored outside to save valuable barn space if needed.
It is very simple and convenient; it comes apart for transportation,
safe for the Llama and handler, and can be used with a sling if
required. All the equipment used at NCL can be purchased here for
your convenience.
